How Do You Take Care of a Kalanchoe Plant?

Date: August 27, 2020

If you are looking for a beautiful succulent, then look no further than Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. Usually referred to as a Kalanchoe, this is a plan that requires warm temperatures that range from 60 to 85° Fahrenheit. This plant is very sensitive to the cold and will Wilt quickly. In addition, Kalanchoe also needs light soil that drains easily. The good news is that given the right environmental conditions, it will grow easily with minimal care. If it is provided with plenty of space, it can reach up to one and a half feet in height. While this plant can be an indoor plant, it is commonly found outside. For those looking for ways to take care of this beautiful plant, there are a few tips to keep in mind.

Taking Care of a Kalanchoe Plant: The Steps

If you would like to take care of this plant, the first step is to find an area with plenty of sunlight and light soil. Ideally, the soil should look like sand. Then, dig a hole that is deep enough to cover the roots of the plant. Place the plant in the hole and fill the area around the roots with soil, tamping it lightly.

If the soil feels dry, water it. Try to avoid water in the leaves. Make sure there is plenty of time between waterings because too much moisture can cause the roots to rot.

During periods of new growth, pr try to use only 1/4 to 1/2 of the manufacturer's recommended amount of fertilizer, as Kalanchoe grows easily and does not require that much fertilizer.

Finally, if you notice any dead or molting flowers, turn them off at the stem. This plant blooms randomly throughout the year, but in order to keep it healthy, you need to remove dead or wilting flowers.

Kalanchoe Is a Straightforward Flower

Overall, this flower is relatively straightforward and easy to take care of. Make sure you follow the steps above and this succulent should provide you with gorgeous, beautiful flowers throughout the year.
